Pearl and Jodie are sister, Pearl is small and shy, Jodie is brash, bold and bad- but Pearl adores her. When their parents get new jobs at the Victorian Gothic Melchester College, the sisters spend a bizarre summer holiday at the boarding school with only a few leftover kids for company.
Jodie doesn't end up fitting in with the posh teenagers in her class. When firework night comes around and tradegy occurs, Pearl relizes how much she needs her big sister.
I recommend this book for girls aged 10+.
